Are you working on your weight loss? Add these MUST EAT healthy foods to your diet if you're trying to lose weight.

Don’t we all want to lose that tummy bulge? It discourages us from wearing our favorite swimsuit at the beach or from that expensive pair of jeans on casual Fridays. Don't worry, we’ve all been there!

Yes, you can lose your gut (and keep it off!) if you just add the right foods to this week’s grocery list. To help you achieve a toned tummy, we’ve put together a list of crucial healthy foods that’ll help you lose extra weight while boosting your metabolism.

Stop eating wrong and add these MUST EAT healthy foods to your diet! Metabolism boosting, fat destroying tummy bulge busting foods you need to be eating daily.

1. Salmon

Wild-caught salmon is full of omega-3 fatty acids, notorious for squashing inflammation and helping you get rid of your belly flab. These healthy fats fight inflammation by increasing in adiponectin, a hormone boosting metabolism and burns fat. Include this pink fish in your diet, as it’s rich in both active forms of omega-3s - EPA and DHA.

2. Tuna

Light tuna is affordable, full of protein, and destroys belly fat! A study in the Journal of Lipid Research discovered the adding of omega-3 fatty acids to your diet may help turn off fat genes. Crack open a can of tuna because tuna is the fish with the highest DHA content!

3. Avocado

Creamy avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats that lower your appetite and prevent the accumulation of belly fat. A European study tracked 90,000 individuals for few years and found participants who tried to eat a low-fat diet had the same risk of having extra pounds as those who ate without any restriction! Keep in mind this fact as another reason to bite into avo-toast.

4. Plums

Believe or not, these fruits can give your fat genes the red light. Plums contain Phenolic compounds named Flavonoids, lending the fruit’s deep color and its ability to fight fat as well. Plums are a rich source of pectin, a gelatin-like type of fiber found in the fruits' cell walls that put a cap on the amount of fat your cells can absorb.

5. Oatmeal

Oats consist of a fiber called Beta-Glucans, which forms a gel in your small intestine, and in that way it lowers blood cholesterol levels, enhancing the immune system, increasing satiety, and regulating blood glucose levels.

6. Greek yogurt

Yes, Greek yogurt is a great belly fat fighter as well. According to a recent study demonstrated at the annual Society for Endocrinology conference, researchers discovered when protein is digested, one of the resulting amino acids, phenylalanine, triggers hormones that help reduce appetite, thus leading to weight loss.

7. Coconut Oil

According to a study published in the journal Lipids, individuals who included this tropical oil in their diet with reduced abdominal obesity significantly more than individuals who consumed inflammatory soybean oil. Specialists believe it’s the coconut oil’s medium-chain triglycerides, burned as energy instead of being stored as fat and lauric acid, shown to identify belly fat and torch it.

8. Cinnamon

Who knew that destroying fat is as easy as shaking cinnamon into your oatmeal? A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition discovered this blood sugar-regulating spice helps reduce insulin secretion, thus preventing sugar from being stored as fat. If you aren’t fan of an oatmeal, try sprinkling cinnamon into your smoothies or latte.

9. Apples

The plethora of apple species is one of the juiciest joys of fall! Whether you go for the Pink Lady or always choose the Granny Smith apples at the local grocery store, this crunchy fruit has been determined to eliminate excess fat. Just don’t take off the peel from it! Apple peels have a compound called ursolic acid, increasing muscle mass and brown fat, the good fat which helps melt your midsection.

10. Grapes

It is true grapes contain more sugar than most of our the other low-carb fruits, however, they are also full of some unexpected flab-fighting benefits. A Washington State University study found the antioxidant Resveratrol, found in grapes, transformed the excess white fat into calorie-burning beige fat, reducing obesity by 40%! You need only three servings of Resveratrol per day. Fortunately, grapes aren’t the only source, berries contain the fat-fighter too!

11. Wine

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and treat yourself another glass of red wine with your dinner. But make sure you’re sipping on Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah, St. Laurent, or Malbec, as these wines contain the highest content of waist-whittling Resveratrol. A five-ounce glass of this type of wine has only 122 calories, but be careful, drinking too much can and leave you hungover and craving a greasy breakfast!

12. Dark Chocolate

Chocoholics, pay attention here! You can now bite another piece of this guilty pleasure. Research demonstrates eating moderate amounts of dark chocolate can diminish body fat and decrease your waistline, due to the dessert’s heart-healthy and anti-inflammatory flavonoids. However, make sure to buy a bar with at least 70% cacao and avoid bars that list “alkalized” chocolate in their ingredients since those have a significantly diminished flavonoid content.

13. Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds are full of magnesium, so adding them to your breakfast bowl is a great way to get your daily dose of it. Magnesium is a nutrient that helps the body clear fat from its stores. Registered dietitian Lauren Slayton of Foodtrainers said the type of fat in the seeds have been demonstrated to diminish abdominal fat in women with no other changes in their diet.

14. Asparagus

Thanks to its significant benefits like vitamins A, C, E, K, and B6, and protein, fiber, folate, calcium, iron, and copper, as well, asparagus can help you get the body you’ve always dreamed of.

15. Pickles

They are filled with water, fiber, and vinegar, and hardly any calories! Just one cup of the pickled cucumbers packs in two grams of fiber for only 16 calories. Studies demonstrate acidic foods like vinegar help increase the body’s carb-burning rate by up to 40%. When your body burns off carbs, moves onto destroying fat, helping you finally rock your skinny jeans!
